Public Liability
As a member of Beauchief Golf Club, a club affiliated to England Golf, you are entitled to public liability (also known as personal liability) insurance cover up to the value of £10 million as part of that affiliation.

From 1st January 2026, the insurance broker managing this policy changed from Marsh to Howden Insurance Brokers. Level of cover remains unchanged.

Cover is in the event that you are found to be negligent for causing injury to another person or damage to third party property whilst playing or practising golf at any golf club or recognised practice facility in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. It includes:

• £10,000,000 - Public liability for third party injury
• £10,000,000 - Public liability for third party property damage

You are NOT covered for:

• Property damage claims below the policy excess of £500
• Golf equipment
• Ownership or use of buggies

All cover is subject to the policy terms and conditions.

There are several other companies in the market who provide more extensive golf insurance including golf equipment, personal accident, Hole in One and worldwide cover. These typically can be purchased for between £20 and £35 per year.

Some of the companies who are active are Golfguard (which we previously used), Golfplan, Golf Care and Insure4Sport Golf. It is worth investigating more than one to check exactly what you want to cover and most of them have quite attractive introductory offers.

The new arrangement with Howden may possibly lead to some additional covers becoming available. If and when this happens, we will update this page.
