You will receive a phone call from one of the Management Committee to acknowledge receipt of your application, to answer any questions that you have and to provide any appropriate information.
All successful applicants will be invited to a New Members' (etiquette and induction) Meeting - normally held at 14.00 on the first Saturday of the month (for Men) or on a Wednesday afternoon (for Ladies). Attendance is compulsory for members seeking their first handicap.
Membership is approved for the current year and fees are due on 1st December but those new applications accepted after 1st September will carry forward their membership to the end of the following year.
If you would like help in joining members for rounds of golf then please ask when you receive your initial phone call, or when you attend a New Members Meeting or ask any member of the Management Committee.

Official Handicaps
As an affiliated club, we allocate new handicaps and we maintain our members' handicap records within the World Handicapping System (WHS). WHS enables handicaps to be used worldwide. Continuous membership of an affiliated club is essential to retain an official recognised golf handicap.
Competitions
The club arranges a wide range of different competitions for its members which cater for all levels of ability. There are small entry fees payable for playing in many of these but many are free. Where fees are payable, they are usually contributions towards prizes or a prize fund.
Golf Insurance
Membership includes some insurance cover whilst playing. The primary cover is up to £10m of Personal Liability in the event that you are held liable for injuring someone or for causing serious property damage at any golf facility in the UK. Click Member Insurance above for more details.
Affiliation Fees
The club is obliged to pay these for most playing members and they are included in your annual subscription. The major element is the fee to England Golf (the organisation that is responsible for all competitive golf). There are also smaller fees payable to the more local Unions and Associations. The details are shown below.
