Taskers Trophy

This annual competition, organised and sponsored by Sheffield based company Taskers UK Ltd, has been running for many years. Golf clubs in South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Staffordshire, Lancashire and Lincolnshire are eligible to enter one or more teams. Each team comprises 7 players aged 50 years and over and matches are full handicap difference singles matchplay. The ultimate goal of the competition is to support junior golf in the region and there is an entry fee for each team which contributes to that.

Teams from Beauchief have been competing in this competition for over 10 years and what started as just one men's team has subsequently expanded to 3 men's teams and 1 ladies team. Each is run by a captain who selects his/her separate pool of players.

The men compete for the Taskers Trophy and Taskers Plate, and the ladies for the Ian Burtoft Trophy. Indeed our ladies were the winners in 2019!!

All men's teams play at least two matches each year, as losing teams in the first round then compete in the Plate competition. All subsequent matches are straight knockouts in following rounds.

The ladies similarly always play at least two matches but play home and away against their first round opponents, followed by a straight knockout.
